travelled by air to Bali with an unlocked bag. Someone else had used
her bag, en route, to carry Marijuana from Brisbane to Sydney. They
failed to collect it in Sydney. Schapelle failed to notice it in Bali.
Balinese customs had already found it. All they needed was for
Schapelle to try to enter Bali with it. She did. Now she's serving 20
years imprisonment – and narrowly avoided the death penalty.
The people that do this are called “importers” because they use your
bags to import contraband into places that they consider too risky.
Schapelle didn't know this, and there's a good chance you didn't either.
