Gregory Kirby, Shreveport, Louisiana Pastor, Pens Life Changing Book On Forgiveness

Released on: May 9, 2008, 8:38 pm

Press Release Author: Andrea R. Williams/Tehillah Enterprises

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: Author Takes Workshops On The Road With A Mission Of Healing

Press Release Body: Hailing from Shreveport, Louisiana, Gregory Kirby has a powerful
message of forgiveness. As pastor of Steeple Chase Baptist Church in Shreveport,
Louisiana, and throughout his many years in the ministry, he’s seen the harm
unforgiveness has caused. His experience was the basis for his most recent book,
Why Forgiveness Makes Sense: Heal Your Heart, Rebuild Your Life available at
Amazon.com.

In his second writing, Kirby highlights the rarely-discussed topic of forgiveness.
Filled with much insight about the benefits of forgiveness and the freedom that
comes from it, Kirby explains the act in a way seldom illustrated. Making sure to
empathize with those who have experienced pain, Why Forgiveness Makes Sense provides
nuggets of wisdom and ministers to those having a hard time letting go. “One thing
that I tell people struggling with unforgiveness is that I understand what they feel
is real,” says Kirby. “But I also tell them that God wants them to move past it,”
says the author and pastor. In his book, he outlines a detailed plan of how to
forgive, and by doing so, he’s helping countless people regain their lives.

Not only has Kirby put his inspired thoughts on paper, but he’s taken concepts from
the book and crisscrossed the country with his seminar on forgiveness. He’s been
from Florida to California to preach the “gospel of forgiveness”. With a Master’s
of Divinity in Church Growth and Evangelism from Southwestern Theological Seminary
in Fort Worth, Texas, and almost 20 years as a pastor, Kirby has assisted in
planting almost two dozen churches. The Marvell-Arkansas-native is a member of the
Shreveport Ministers Conference, the National Association of the Advancement of
Colored People.
