Press Release Summary: Saville Audio Visual provided the AV equipment and facilities for a theatre style conference with an audience of 750, staged for Carphone Warehouse on behalf of event management company Strata.
Press Release Body: To make full use of the space, Saville constructed an extensive truss frame system with a 20' x 11' widescreen front projection screen, using two powerful Christie HD8K projectors overlapped to combine brightness.
The 1920 x 1200 pixels output from two Mac Powerbooks provided true HD resolution, sent to the projectors over a fibre optic link. We also provided a live three-camera DV-Cam shoot and a high performance D&B Q-Series 5kw PA system.
With only two 32amp 3-phase supplies, there was limited power for lighting. The lighting rig was specifically designed around this, by using low-power LED battens and LED parcans to supplement the minimal generic lighting.
The presentation featured a demonstration of five different devices including new phones and PDAs. Video outputs from each were displayed using the projectors’ Picture in Picture facility to show live camera images and display outputs at the same time.
